Holter Monitoring

Days test performed: Sunday – Friday

Time: A Holter Monitoring takes approximately 20 minutes to perform.

The Holter Monitoring is performed in Room No: 10 on our OPD block.

You have to take prior appointment for Holter monitoring and have to pay Rs. 5000 as a deposit.

A Holter Monitor is a 24 hour recording of your heart. Five ECG electrodes are applied to the chest and are connected to a small recorder which is worn on a belt around the waist. You will be given a diary and asked to record your activities over the next 24 hours.

There is an event button on the monitor which is to be pressed when experiencing the symptoms for which you are being investigated.

We suggest wearing a garment which opens down the front, i.e. shirt or blouse. Please do not wear talcum powder. You will return to the Cardiology Testing Unit the following day to have the holter removed.
